Does American Education Need Reform?

For almost half a century Americans have been told our education system is a disaster. First the Soviets were beating us in the race to space. Now it's China and India threatening our economy. In a new book, MSU education professor Yong Zhao points out the Soviets are gone and the U.S. remains an unequaled economic power. He concludes that American education has largely gotten it right and that it's the current reform efforts that are dangerous.
