The Michigan Court of Appeals says there is no tolerance for driving under the influence of marijuana. Any trace of the drug in your blood means you are breaking the law. We'll hear about that decision today, including a response from the judge whose lower-court decision was overturned by the appeals court. This week on Points North.

in your system vs being stoned

My biggest problem with the decision is that I don't believe they understand that there is a difference between having THC "in your system" and being under the influence. A person might be under the influence for a matter of hours, while still testing positive for weeks.

Folks, I am 64 years old,

Folks, I am 64 years old, became a Christian in 1978, became a minister in 1984, and have been branded a criminal for 46 years because I CHOOSE to grow & use God-created Cannabis instead of doing man-made, poisonous drugs (legal or otherwise). I am not alone..we are a LARGE counter-culture of folks who CHOOSE the natural route over the synthetic one. We DO NOT manufacture a drug...we GROW a, seed-bearing, herbal PLANT! We love our families & communities, work hard, believe in shopping local & recycling, grow organic, and contribute to society. Now I ask you, how are we hurting anyone with the choice of our lifestyle? What gives ANYONE the right to make us live a different lifestyle, or THEIR'S? We DO NOT force ANYONE to live our's! We have been jailed, our children & possessions taken away from us, and even killed for OUR choice of lifestyle! So I am humbly pleading with ALL who read this to help RIGHT a WRONG that has been going on for over 70 years now in our country! Help us get the signatures that we need to qualify for the state ballot to end prohibition for ALL adults 21 & over, and then vote YES for OUR God-given rights this November. Go to www.repealtoday.org . Our signature drive started in January and we have till July 9th to collect 500,000 sigs. Let's make our great state of Michigan the shining light on the hill and the leader of our great nation once again...let's make history once again! Obviously, we are not going to get any help from our current legislators. OUR FUTURE IS NOW IN OUR HANDS, SO WHAT WILL WE DO WITH IT?

medical marijuana & zero tolerance

This is a very difficult time for all medical marijuana patients! Our lawmakers, people we voted in, are fighting a new law! This is something we voted in! Now the people we voted in are fighting us! We are trying to follow the law an do the right thing! Now every time a medical marijuana patient gets pulled over their gonna haul them off to the hospital to take their blood to see if they have traces of THC?! Does anyone think if the cops think someone has a perscription for anything else, they would do the same thing? Our lawmakers, elected officials, ect., really don't care about what the public wants, they only seem to care about what they want? Once again, I have yet to hear marijuana has killed anyone! Everything else out there in one way or another is harmful! The worst part about all this is, it seems that once we voted it in, we have no control over anything after that.. its completly out of our hands! The court systems are allowed to just run, or do what they want with our laws an rights! Medical marijuana patient are even being denied the right to use it as a viable defence in court! These are all things they are keeping from the press! Its hard to believe we live in a free country! Where is the freedom to be at peace not harming a soul? Because we choose to get seen by a doctor, an certified to use " medical marijuana " in place of some other " man made " drugs, we are still subject to arrest!
