This winter has brought an unusual variety of birds to northern Michigan. Traverse City tops the Michigan list in the Great Backyard Bird Count for the number of species seen this year. That's in part though because of the dedication of a few folks around the area to conduct surveys and hand them in. Tom Ford is one. He works at Wild Birds Unlimited in Traverse City.
