The War of 1812 is sometimes called the forgotten war because it is little known and seldom remembered. Historians in Michigan hope to change that during the bicentennial. The Great Lakes was a major theatre for the conflict. Both Detroit and Mackinac Island were taken by the British less than two months after war was declared. This week on Points North we'll hear about our nation's second war with the British.
