UPDATE: 10/31/12: Traverse City police have arrested a 26-year-old Alden man. Police say he is a registered sex offender with a prior conviction. They say they found evidence in his home they believe links him to the crime.

Police released photos today from a surveillance camera at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center. They’re hoping the public will help identify a man accused of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy last Thursday.
The boy had been playing at the skateboard park and a man followed him home to his apartment complex, where we entered with a code. Police say the man followed the boy in and once in the lobby the man exposed himself and inappropriately touched the child.
The man is believed to be in his mid-20s with tan looking skin, shorter in height. He has short, dark hair that’s spiked in front.
