The Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Department released a sketch of the TART Trail suspect Thursday.

On Sunday afternoon a man grabbed a woman from behind on the TART Trail near Boardman Lake in back of Art Van.

Authorities say the suspect tried to drag her into the woods nearby.

But the woman, who was walking her dog at the time, was able to escape.

She was unharmed.

Police are looking for a white or Native American man in his late 20s or early 30s, medium build with long black hair.

His hair was pulled back in a ponytail.

Contact the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office at 231-995-5002 from 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday, or after hours, call 231-922-4550.
