Demand for energy in Michigan this summer will be down slightly from last year, according to the yearly appraisal by the Michigan Public Service Commission which regulates utilities.

Gasoline sales are projected to be down by a little more than two percent, with retail prices expected to average $3.79 dollars per gallon.

Use of natural gas and electricity also are projected to be down mainly due to mild weather.

No shortages of energy supplies are anticipated for this year.
