Consumer Reports Ranks Petoskey's Hospital A 'Top 10' In Safety

Petoskey’s hospital has been listed among the 10 safest hospitals in the U.S. by Consumer Reports. The magazine compared more than 1,159 hospitals in 44 states.

The rankings analyze factors including mortality, repeat visits and hospital-acquired infections.

McLaren-Northern Michigan, formerly Northern Michigan Regional Hospital, earned a safety score of 69 out of a possible 100. No hospital scored better than 72.

Munson Medical Center in Traverse City also performed well compared to other U.S. and Michigan hospitals, earning a score of 64.
