A doctor’s office in Bellaire will serve more patients and hire 15 more workers, thanks to a federal grant of nearly $2.5 million dollars.

East Jordan Family Health Center offers a sliding fee discount for some low-income patients. They say they can serve 4,000 more patients through the expansion in Bellaire.

A clinic in Baldwin will also get half a million dollars for facility upgrades through federal health reform. The money from the Affordable Care Act is designed to improve health centers, create jobs, and expand access to more patients.

In total, Michigan will receive nearly $20 million dollars in grants from the new program.
