A 22-year-old Ludington man, Sean Michael Phillips, is guilty of unlawful imprisonment.

Jurors reached a decision today after a two-week trial over the disappearance last summer of his then four-month-old baby.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports that Phillip’s attorney is already planning an appeal.

The conviction could bring a 15-year prison term.

The trial failed to uncover the whereabouts of Katherine Phillips, or Baby Kate. If still alive, she turned one year old February 12th.
