Attorney General Bill Schuette is warning homeowners to be aware of unscrupulous home repair contractors. He is talking to those whose property was damaged in the Duck Lake wildfire. He says con artists with home repair scams are drawn to areas of recent disaster.

The entire fire area in the eastern Upper Peninsula is being opened to property owners today. But they’ll have to pass through a checkpoint and get a special pass to travel back and forth. There will still be law enforcement patrols in the fire area. All roads and trails will be reopened to non-residents on Monday.
