Most any seasoned hunter would be proud to nab a 10-point buck at 8:30 in the morning on opening day of deer season. But on your very first hunt?

"This was my first time out, and first time I shot a gun was two weeks ago," says 21-year-old Katie Towersey of Lake Ann. "So I guess I was pretty blessed to go out there and do this. Everyone's pretty jealous."

To show for opening day last Sunday, Katie has both a 10-point and an eight-point. The heads are wrapped up and sitting on top of a chest freezer in her family's garage.
