From Staff Reports

Downtown Petoskey may operate a trolley bus service this summer.

A sub-committee of the Downtown Management Board has unanimously agreed to recommend the plan. The full board will talk about it at a meeting tomorrow Tuesday.

Under the proposal – the DMB would pay one dollar for the trolley bus, which is currently owned by a local business.

The city also has a long-term goal of a rail trolley service on old track that runs diagonally from Bay View through Pennsylvania Park, downtown. The city already owns the trolley car for that service, but it could take years to get that service underway.
