New Name For T.C. State Park

Traverse City State Park was renamed today. The park will now be known as the Keith J. Charters Traverse City State Park.

Charters is a Traverse City resident and a longtime conservationist, hunter, and angler. He served on the state's Natural Resources Commission from 1994 to 2010.

Charters currently serves on the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board, which awards grants to communities across the state to buy and develop parks and recreation areas.
