Lots of news from Mackinac Island this week, all hinging on a controversy that's lasted for months now over ferry service to the island.

We heard from the island that it plans to jump fees it charges ferry companies for the right to service the island.

Meanwhile, state regulators announced they would step in, and ultimately may go over the head of island city officials.

And the mayor's race in the island will be contested for the first time in decades.

Listen to the audio above for a roundup and analysis with IPR News Director Peter Payette.
