The federal government is trying to keep invasive species from hitchhiking in the ballast water of foreign ships.  When ships dump their ballast water in the Great Lakes, those creatures can get out.  If they find a mate... there can be a whole world of trouble.  We'll hear what federal agencies are doing to tackle that problem... on the next Environment Report.
