Election Results

Some new faces will be on the Traverse City Commission.

Mary Anne Moore and Michael Gillman were the top vote getters in yesterday's election.

Jodi Bergman was elected for a second term.

Incumbent Denise Scrudato fell short in her re-election bid.

And Chris BzDok is the city's new mayor.  He was unopposed in that race.

Voter turnout was a little more than 20 percent.

Gary Appel will stay on the Traverse City Area Public Schools board of education.  He defeated Diane Viskochil.

Kelly Hall and Julie Puckett have also been elected to the board along with incumbent Suzanne Brooke.

In Frankfort, voters elected two newcomers to the city council.

Robert Johnson and Bill Higman were victorious along with former council member JoAnn Holwerda.

Two operating millage requests for the Frankfort/Elberta school district were both approved by large margins.

And road improvement millages were defeated in both Acme and East Bay Townships.
