Sage Alicia DeAgro-Roupp

Traverse City resident Sage Alicia DeAgro-Roupp has landed a spot on “A Prairie Home Companion” this summer. Sage is a student at Interlochen Arts Academy. She’s 15-years old. She became intrigued by opera when she saw a live Met broadcast of “Hansel and Gretel” at Traverse City’s State Theatre. She was 10 years old.

Sage says, "After I saw it, I was just so intrigued and just amazed by it, the whole thing. It was an overnight thing and I just decided, 'I want to do that.'"

Sage will appear on “A Prairie Home Companion” when the show visits Interlochen on July 7th.

Those of us lucky enough to live near Interlochen have had many occasions to hear Sage's angelic soprano voice and her superb interpretation. Thanks to Prairie Home Companion and Garrison Keillor for highlighting one of America's most promising opera performers.
