Scene from Kevin Puts' "Silent Night"

A former student of Interlochen has won the Pulitzer Prize for Music. Kevin Puts was awarded the Pulitzer for his opera "Silent Night" which premiered in November of last year. The opera tells the true story of a group of soldiers during a cease-fire in World War I. Puts says the reality of winning the Pulitzer is still sinking in. He says the honor could open the way for him to compose more operas and chamber music too. "Silent Night" is Kevin Puts' first opera.

The Minnesota Opera has some scenes online.
