Host Brad Aspey presents an entire hour devoted to Kalevi Aho's Concerto for Contrabassoon and Orchestra, which received its US premiere right here at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Present for the performance was composer Kalevi Aho, principal contrabassoonist of the National Symphony Orchestra Lewis Lipnick and Maestro Leonard Slatkin. We'll hear the work and excerpts from a fascinating public discussion with Aho, Slatkin and Lipnick, moderated by Interlochen president Jeffrey Kimpton.
