A Traverse City man is in the top 25 in early voting for Grand Rapids' ArtPrize.
It's only the second day of voting in the competition. But Eric Daigh is an early competitor. The Traverse City man makes mosaic portraits using push pins.
Daigh's work is one of more than 1,200 pieces entered in ArtPrize. The winner of the massive downtown arts competition will win a quarter of a million dollars.
Anyone can vote online or with cell phones.
Other works in the top 25 include the outdoor wall mural, "Imagine That," displayed on the side of the Grand Rapids Children's Museum, and a 15-foot red vinyl ball that is appearing in different locations throughout the city.
The winner will be announced October 8th.
IPR's Brad Aspey talks with Eric Daigh about his work in this October 2008 interview.
