ALL-IN Drive: FAQ

ALL-IN Drive for Listener Support

Why is IPR adding an on-air fund drive in May?
We'll begin making programming commitments for 2009-10 in June. This is one of the major items in our budget, and we need to end our current fiscal year with a balanced budget so that we don't have to cut valued programming next year. Our goal is to raise an additional $108,000 to cover the costs of broadcasting during this on-air drive, May 7-12.

Is IPR on target with budgeted revenue?
No. The current economic conditions have produced an unusual situation at IPR: more people are supporting the station but generally with smaller gifts, resulting in less revenue.  Also, the grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for IPR was $90,000 less this year than last year.

How does IPR intend to raise this additional money?
We must broaden the base of support for IPR.  We are hoping to convince listeners who are not contributors to join those who make IPR financially viable.  Only about 14% of the current listeners actually contribute money to fund station operations.

What is the goal for IPR’s  “All In” drive?
There are two goals for the drive:  to raise $108,000 in gifts and pledges by May 12, and to welcome 1,000 IPR first-time donors.

How can I make a gift?
You can make your gift online through our secure server, or call us at 800.442.9422.
