Traverse City Man To Get Michigan Filmmaker Award

Director Rich Brauer will be given the 2009 Michigan Filmmaker Award at tomorrow's opening of the Traverse City Film Festival.

The Traverse City-based director's features include "Frozen Stupid" and "Barn Red." And Brauer recently premiered a new film, "That One Summer." The filmmaker also served as cinematographer for Jeff Daniels films, "Escanaba in da Moonlight" and "Super Sucker."

Michael Moore will present the award at the kick-off party for the film festival Tuesday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Front Street between Park and Union Streets.
