When you go to a ballet you expect to hear music by Tchaikovsky or Stravinsky. But this Saturday, February 11, you can expect something a little different - ballet with live jazz. The ballet is called "Scenes from a Park."

Using the opera "Dr. Atomic" to teach science might sound like a pretty strange idea. But one Interlochen Arts Academy science teacher has done just that. And, according to her students, it helped them learn the human story behind a chalkboard full of symbols and equations.

Members of this group are all coping with mental illness and they hope the martial art will both calm the mind and stimulate a healthier lifestyle.

The War of 1812 is sometimes called the forgotten war because it is little known and seldom remembered. Historians in Michigan hope to change that during the bicentennial. The Great Lakes was a major theatre for the conflict. Both Detroit and Mackinac Island were taken by the British less than two months after war was declared.
