On the next "ArtForms," Brad Aspey talks with Traverse City filmmaker Rich Brauer. Rich's film, "Mr. Art Critic," has just been added to the Netflix catalog. Also, a talk with Patti Aiken. She's the author of a new children's book titled "Crossings." Each page of artwork was done by a different Northern Michigan artist. Also, Interlochen Dance Director Cameron Basden. She'll discuss an upcoming dance performance titled "Dance Revolution." It deals with the revolution that began with the Ballets Russe in the early 20th-century. And a profile of Beulah artist Robert Fitzke.

In “Barn Red,” Traverse City filmmaker Rich Brauer drove home a serious point about land stewardship. In his new movie, “Fitful,” Brauer just wants to keep moviegoers on the edge of their seats.

At the Conference on Michigan's Future, some speakers proposed Michigan strengthen its economy by operating its own bank. One economist said Michigan should issue its own currency. They all predict a dismal future for the federal monetary system. As one analyst put it, that system is shaking itself apart and "all the President's horses and all the President's men are not going to save this system." This week on Points North, hear about alternative ideas for financial exchanges. Friday morning at 9:00 with a rebroadcast at 9 pm.

From the C. S. Lewis Festival in Petoskey.

Every November the City of Petoskey celebrates the life and work of C.S. Lewis. Lewis was a British scholar of medieval literature who also wrote fantasy, science fiction and numerous works of Christian theology. He is most well known for his series of children's books, The Chronicles of Narnia. This year on Little Traverse Bay, the fans of C.S. Lewis decided friendship would be the theme of the annual festival. Lewis cultivated numerous and deep friendships during his life and friendship was a crucial element in the stories he wrote.
